Swiss varieties for a competitive and diverse fodder production.

Switzerland as a typical grassland has a long tradition in breeding of fodder crops. The research station Agroscope Reckenholz-Tänikon (ART) works today on a broad range of species. The breeding program is based on the genetic diversity in natural local populations. Some of the main characteristics of the ART-varieties are valuable agronomic traits, such as high yield, resistance against pathogens, quality and persistence. DSP Ltd, as co-owner of the varieties, is responsible for their registration and marketing in Switzerland and abroad as well as for the production of basic seeds.
